There will be a scheduled maintenance on Hexagon on November 6th from
10:00. We expect the maintenace will take around 8-10 hours. There
will be no access to the machine. All running jobs will be affected,
therefore a reservation is set in the system to prevent from starting
jobs which can't finish before the maintenance.

During the maintenance we are going to update:

* software on hexagon management station
* software on compute nodes to version CLE4.2UP01

Update: 18:20 update finished, machine is open for access.

The /migrate and /bcmhsm file systems are down for maintenance. It should take around 2 hours.

Update: 20:30 Fses are back online

Due to important security update we will have to shutdown Hexagon for
maintenance 10:30.

We will bring it up as soon as possible. We expect to be finished before
the end of the day.

Update: 13:50 Machine is back online.

Hexagon will have a scheduled maintenance on April 3rd from 10:00. We expect to be back up again in the evening the same day.

During maintenance we are planning to update software releases of SMW and CNL and finish migration of /work/shared to /work-common/shared.

A reservation is in place as such as jobs starting before the maintenance and finishing after can not be submitted.

Update: 22:54 The maintenance has been finished.

Hexagon will have a scheduled maintenance on Oct 10th. It will start at 10:00 and will last approximately for 2 hours.

During we maintenance we are going to replace failed and failing components.

Update: 15:15 Maintenance finished, machine is up.

Hexagon will have a scheduled maintenance on August 23rd from 09:00. We expect to be back up again later the same day.

We will put back cabinet 8 (taken out during thunderstorm crash) and install 2 software patches for increased stability.

Update August 23rd at 18:30, Hexagon is now up again. The hardware and software work was more extensive than planned, we apologize for the inconvenience.

Hexagon will have scheduled maintenance August 1st extending into August 2nd.

We will do changes to all the PDUs to increase reliability of the system and additionally install latest update of the OS (CLE and SMW). The latest software update will also increase stability and decrease startup and debug times for system failures.

The scheduled downtime will start August 1st at 09:00.

Updates:

Update Thursday 10:30, The changes to the PDUs is taking longer than expected, therefore the maintenance will be extended into Friday August 3rd.

Update Friday 12:00, There will unfortunately be a further delay before the system is up again. Currently, we expect to boot the system on Saturday August 4th.

Update Sunday 19:25, The maintenance has been finished and the system is back online.

We are going to reboot hexagon on Friday, June 29th at 10:00. This is to add cabinet c12 into the system. The job scheduler has reservation so that only jobs which can finish before maintenance reboot can start. We expect reboot should not take longer than 1 hour.

Update: 10:43 System is up and running.

We encountered errors on the /home file system. Therefore we have to
shutdown machine immediately for the maintenance.

We will use this opportunity to rerun HPL benchmark on whole machine
right after maintenance, this means that your submitted jobs will start
5 hours after maintenance is finished.

Update 13:00: Machine is back online. The inconsistency on /home has been fixed.

We will have a scheduled maintenance for hexagon on Monday, December 19th. Approximate time slot is from 10:00 to 14:00

We need to replace 2 PDUs in failed cabinets and some CPUs, memory.
