We have updated and made default the following modules:
- craype 2.5.5 -> 2.5.9

The PGI 17.4 Community Edition has been installed as non-default. Please find more information about Community Edition at http://www.pgroup.com/products/community.htm
HPN-SSH has been obsoleted by standard OpenSSH releases.
Due to unstable release cycle and security concerns related to that, we have discontinued the use of HPN-SSH on Hexagon.
The following new software have been INSTALLED:
- Intel Compilers 2017 Update 4 (module: intel/17.4.056 (non-default))
The following unused software have been REMOVED:
- Intel Compilers 126.96.36.1999
It could be that something stopped working for you because of extra dependencies on the software removed. If that is the case please let us know via regular support, we would be happy to help you.
New versions of Totalview and Chapel have been installed on Hexagon:
- Totalview 2016.06.22
- Chapel 1.14.0
Please note that they are default now. If you want to load previous defaults, please specify versions:
PGI 16.05, CCE 8.5.1 and CrayPat 6.4.1 are installed on Hexagon as non default versions.
As the newer CCE and CrayPat installations are rather experimental, to access version 8.5.1 of the Cray compiler and 6.4.1 version of the CrayPat one needs to run:
module use /opt/cray/pe/modulefiles
NB. No extra steps are required to access PGI 16.05
We have upgraded the SSH server on hexagon to address some security issues.
If you can not log in anymore using your SSH key, but only password, please check the content of ~/.ssh/authorized_keys file for entries like from="myhost.example.com" and change the hostname to IP address. Starting with this version only IP addresses and not host names may be used in the authorized_keys file.
Edit: authorized_keys file provides fine tuning for client access. If you would like to find out more about it, you may read sshd(8) man pages.
DSA key types are not considered safe anymore and we will phase them out soon. A new syslog entry will be added in the following days with more information about it.
